Haunted Brush

The Art of David Martinez

  • Friday the 13th

To me the Friday the 13th movies aren’t about a masked psycho going after teenagers. They’re about survival. They’re about facing, overcoming, and surviving your fears. Running from your fears will only leave victims until it is confronted. Don’t be a victim. Be the final person to survive.

    Dracula

The imagery of Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula" has left an indelible mark on my journey as a visual artist. The film's rich and opulent visuals, characterized by rich colors, and intricate Gothic details, have ignited a creative fire within me that has manifested itself in my striking and colorful gargoyle painting. The film's dark and romantic atmosphere, coupled with its sensual and dramatic aesthetics, has inspired me to delve deeper into the realms of symbolism and storytelling through art. It's as though Coppola's cinematic masterpiece has unlocked a reservoir of creativity in me, urging me to explore the depths of my imagination and translate my emotions onto the canvas. The gargoyle, a symbol of both protection and menace, serves as a compelling embodiment of the film's themes, and I hope that my painting captures some of the same intensity and allure that "Dracula" has brought to my artistic expression.
